Chris Bacala

President

Christopher Bacala is president of Bare Roots Landscape Solutions. Chris started his career by joining the Louisiana National Guard and entering the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL) to pursue a degree in Industrial Technology from the College of Engineering. While studying at USL, he was activated and proudly served his country in the first Gulf War.

Upon receiving his degree at USL, he went on to further his studies at Louisiana State University (LSU) and received a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. During
this time he also studied landscape architecture abroad in Manchester, England.

After college Chris moved to Dallas, Texas and worked for several large design/build firms. This experience allowed Chris the opportunity to design and manage many successful municipal and residential projects.

While yearning for more he decided to start his own business and in August of 2003 he created Bare Roots Landscape Solutions. With more than 20 years of industry experience
many of his clients have been with him for years and are key components to the success of the company.

While maintaining a busy work schedule Chris finds time to be involved in his church and volunteers his time with several community agencies. In addition, he has received numerous landscape design and business management awards from organizations such as Texas Landscape Nursery Association, the State Fair of Texas, and the North Texas Business Association.

He is currently pursuing his Landscape Architect license with the state of Texas.

Chris lives in the Lakewood area of Dallas with his wife and his son Christopher. They are expecting their second child later this year.

Anthony Anderson

Accounts Manager
Anthony graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2000 from the University of Nebraska. During his undergraduate work, he also attended classes at Oxford University in England for the study of International Economics. Anthony has over 9 years of experience working in the landscaping services industry. He has been with Bare Roots since mid-2004.

Ray Rubio

Project Manager
Licensed Irrigator
Ray Rubio is the principal project manager coordinating the BRLS crews that install and maintain residential and commercial landscapes, including hardscapes and horticulture. Ray manages the sequencing of the jobs and budgets, directly supervises field crews and indirectly supervises subcontractors.

Jason Selley

Leed AP
Sustainability Consultant
Jason has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2004. He brings extensive hands-on project-management experience in architecture, construction and the implementation of the LEED Certification process. Jason is adept in leading the sustainable efforts for large projects from initial team building and design charettes to implementation and certification. Jason has developed his expertise through over 8 years of experience.

Jared Sylor

Landscape Designer/Project Manager

Jared Sylor is a designer at Bare Roots Landscape Solutions.  Jared’s formal education began with an Associate’s Degree in Landscape Development from SUNY, Alfred in rural western New York State where he grew up.  He moved to Texas to complete a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from A&M Commerce, and has recently earned a Graduate degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Jared is currently pursuing state licensure in landscape architecture and enjoys the outdoors, travel and reading about landscape and urban design.
